We are a small, family-run campsite in Biristrand, right beside Lake Mjøsa. You can pitch a tent, park the caravan or motorhome, or rent one of our cabins. The shower and washroom block is new for 2023, and we are open from May to September.
We have around 75 seasonal pitches by Lake Mjøsa, plus about 25 more for guests who are just staying the night. These are ideal for drop-ins, so you are welcome to simply turn up without booking ahead. Several of them look out over the water. It is a small, easygoing place, and we run it ourselves.
You will find us in Biristrand, about 15 minutes south of Lillehammer. Leave the E6 at Vingrom and follow the local road south for roughly 3.5 km. It is well signposted down to the campsite.
Our address is Biristrandvegen 855, 2837 Biristrand
The bus comes right to our door. The Furuodden camping stop is just next to us, and route 102 runs along Lake Mjøsa between Lillehammer and Gjøvik. On Entur you can see when the next bus leaves and buy your ticket, whether you are heading here to us or on into town. In summer a single ticket costs just 10 kroner thanks to the local "10-krone summer bus" scheme.
We have room for caravans, motorhomes and tents, and rental cabins in two sizes. All prices are per night and apply to two people. Children under five stay free.

You do not have to travel far to find plenty to do. Lake Mjøsa is right outside, Lillehammer is about 15 minutes away, and the family parks are roughly half an hour's drive.
We have a small swimming jetty down by the water. Lake Mjøsa is cold in May, but by July it is lovely for a swim.
Mjøsa is Norway's largest lake and one of the country's richest for fish, with around 20 species. Among them is the famous large brown trout, along with Arctic char, whitefish, vendace, grayling, perch, pike and burbot. And the fishing is free.
The shoreline has calm bays that are well suited to a canoe or a paddleboard. We do not rent any out, but you are welcome to bring your own.

A popular walk north of Lillehammer (670 m above sea level) with a fine view over the town and Lake Mjøsa. Just south of the summit hangs a swing put up by the DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association) in 2020, a destination in its own right, looking straight out over the lake.
